Bon Odori 2011

It is a very nice Saturday evening. (Most of my friend told me that most of the past years Bon Odori usually will have some rain with in and will caused a lot of mud on the fields) But I guess that's not the case this year, the weather is just nice, no rain, not too much sun and with some clouds here and there. Anyway, I am glad that I came to the Bon Odori for this year. This is the second time I join this festival and found that the whole festive setup is totally different during my first visit there. (It has been like a few years back I believe). And I did not bring any gears with me on my first visit other than my mobile phone. :"P

Anyway, I came pretty early that day visited the whole festive setup and of course go around the food stalls to find something to fill up the tummy before I start the photo shoot. :") Anyway I love the stage setup for this year where it is setup in the middle of the field and then the food stalls are setup just right beside the road on the other side. Personally I think this has really give a lot of ample space for the people to watch the show (sit down and enjoy) as well as partake and dance a long with the performance. Anyway, I just love all the performance that day. Everything started with some slow pace performance and then finally some fast and energetic one. The adults and kids just enjoy it very much, Everything is just great, energetic and also full of happiness (Which reminds me a lot of all the journey,people and trip that I met and experience in Japan). Somehow, I feel touched when watching some of the show... somehow. :")

Anyway, I went back home before 8pm just to get some rest with LB and I think I miss the fireworks part. No matter what, I am glad that I am there and feel the atmosphere of this Japanese festival this year. It has been a great one. I hope that you all will enjoy this short series as well. As a short note: Bon Odori Festivals is celebrated on a much smaller scale in Penang, and is less associated with Buddhism and more with Japanese culture. Held mainly to expose locals to a part of Japanese culture, the festival provides the experience of a variety of Japanese food and drinks, art and dance.
