Hanoi - Vietnam 2013 - Day 2

Travel Photography by Chiat Hau Photography (Hanoi Vietnam - Day 2)

It is the New Year eve. We have been waking up early getting ourself prepared to get ready for a New Year. (Guess it has been pretty interesting where we have been leaping into a new year at a different country for 2 consecutive years. - We are at Taiwan last year). And a more interesting stuff is that we are going to meet up with some friends today. We have only been communicated and chat via email so far. And meeting face to face is going to the first time for us. (Sound pretty cool in deed). Anyway an early morning for us, while waiting for Angela and Duc to arrive at our hotel to meet up with us. :")

More photos after the jump...

Anyway, We manage to meet up with them and Angela has welcome us with open arms. :") A very very nice and warmth gils in deed. And Duc in contrast is a pretty shy guy.:") (Sorry Duc if you see this, but you are really shy. :")). Anyway here we go and started our day 2 journey. We have started our day with a good brunch at the Ngon restaurant. And yes, they served very very good Vietnamese food in deed. Everything served is just nice and equally cooked and the taste are just great! :) follow up next, we took a quick stop at a small (and yet classic) coffee shop for some small coffee chat session. Getting to know each other more and of course story telling and sharing among all of us. (Angela is a writer and Duc is an Architect who is very interested with photography. He took very good photos as well). ;)

We have a small visit to one of the Art Museum in Hanoi (Interesting places with a lot of great Arts and Sculptures. I have learnt some Vietnam history from there as well :"D) Gonna amazed by that actually. We went to Bar Betta after that. It is a small bar in an old building on the second floor. Decorated with some pretty antique stuff and accompany with some light music. Nice atmosphere to sit, chat and gathering. :") We headed off to get coffee powder recommended by Angela after that. She wrote an article before about this coffee shop (Cafe Duy Tri) that is very famous for it's yogurt coffee, so she know the boss very well. The boss is a very nice guy where he has sat down and chat with us about his business and trophies he has won in the competition. (But I feel very bad and sorry that one of the trophy fell down and broke, but the boss say that it could be fix, so hopefully it really can be fixed, I bet all those trophy do meant a lot to him ~:"|). Finally for our dinner of the day, we went to the "Pots and Pans". We didn't booked a place that day. It is very spontaneous, But I think we got to thank the lady Manager, Thao, where she has tried her best to find a place and accommodate us in her restaurant. Guess it is well worth the wait for the seat where the food there is AWESOME! I have not tried any fine dining which taste that good so far and these are the first one I will say that "If you go to Hanoi, please make sure you went to Pots and Pans to try out their food". The atmosphere there is very relaxing with some vintage feel in it. A must go places for every traveller to Hanoi. :")

Anyway, We ended the night where we have a quick pit stop at the location where they will perform the count down and then we ended the day 2 with a small beer-ing session in a small pub. But guess the night ends early where the police started to kick people out from the pub. (I believe there is some curfew for that area).

No matter what, I am glad that we have some friends locally who could bring us around to not so touristy location. Seriously, I guess I am still those guy who prefer to blend into people life and see how do they live their life. I think probably if there is a chance, I might pay a visit to the mountain and stay there for a few days which Duc has shared with me. (Probably for some photography project - not sure if LB is going to be interested with this one. :"P Since mainly I will be going there just for photo shooting. :") Anyway we shall see. Hehe). Thanks to Angela and Duc again who has brought us around the city of Hanoi. I bet we won't be able to see so many interesting places without both of you as our tour guide. a BIG THANKS to both of you!!

Anyway, day 3 coming up really soon. :") Stay tune folks. Signing off for now.
