Japan Tokyo Gotemba Trip Day 5 - Attractions at Toki No Sumika

Travel Photography by Chiat Hau Photography (Gotemba Japan Trip)
The first morning in Gotemba.

Waking up in the morning finding that it is drizzling outside. The day is again pretty gloomy. LB will need to work and for me, I decided to go out and completed my discovery on the places of interest around listed by the hotel here. I bet it will be pretty interested to walk in the rain and get some shoot there. :)

More photos after the jump...

I think they generate some of their power here. :)

Yupe, it is still pretty early in the morning. Most of the shop is still closed. (Yeah, some of their places of attractions is their shops there). So I decided to walk around the compound of the hotel and got to know the routes to each of the location. I bet it will be helpful if I wanna re-travel or be a 1/2 water tour guide for LB when she is free. :"P Found that the land has been moisture by the rain and pretty much everything is very fresh. You could feel the coldness and freshness of the air in the morning.

This is taken outside an art workshop. (more photos inside the workshop on a later post) :")

There are quite a lot of attractions around the Toki No Sumika. Pretty much, I just wonder around (without a sense of direction and trying to understand the map provided by the hotel folks). So there are a lot of detour for me specially on this first tour. Anyway, I pass by a few other resorts in the hotel manage to get some shoots and finally reach the hill with a hugh bell there. Jungles are surrounding the bell and I could smell the wood and the grass at that moment. (May be it is due to the rain) - But it is feeling very good. :)

So wondering around and trying to figures out the attractions available, too bad most of them are still closed, since I went out pretty early. There is actually a art clay workshop in the resort. But it is closed at that moment. But I manage to get some shop during the workshop and hopefully I could post it up in my later blog post. :) Anyway I finally wonder back to where I begin...

Cheers! :) He is the uncle who sell lemonade. :)

It is started to get crowd since it is getting late. Everybody is getting ready for their business to start. Cleaning up the outdoor chair and table that is wet, baking the bread so that it could be served hot to the customer when it is ready. I manage to get one uncle to pose in his lemonade booth for me, since he is pretty free sitting outside the booth looking around. (I bet must be the rain that caused his business to be bad) When I requested his permission to take photo, he thought that I need his help to take photo, but in the end, after some explanation, he knew that I would like to take his shoot and he is very happy and walk into his booth and pose for me. :") Just another friendly chap that I met. Thanks uncle for your photo. :)

Finally, Mount Fuji. :)

Travel Photography by Chiat Hau Photography (Gotemba Japan Trip)
Yeah the sky after the rain has been very bluish and clear. :)

I have went back to get some rest after wards, until I got to know that the mount Fuji has finally "appear" from the fog. So I quickly pack up my stuff and go and and check with the hotel receptionist which direction I could have a good view of Mount Fuji. And I realize that it is just right in front of the hotel!! and yes it is there, finding the sweet spot to snap a good shoot of the floating mount Fuji. The cloud is moving quick and pretty much I waited there to get a decent shoot for it. I bet a lot of people who has passed by there must think that I might be a paparazzi trying to get some good shoot somewhere. :"P Anyway, in the mean time of waiting, I also found that the scenery near by is very nice, so I walked around the area and get some housing area shoot as well. Yeah you will find that the grass there is very green and the sky without the cloud is very blue. (Seriously, that's the first time I see such a blueish sky in Gotemba because usually it is full with fog - and it makes you feel really GOOD). :)

The 2 live performers in the hotel

Just feel the beat

Doing his magic with his finger.

On my way back from the shooting, I heard music!! it is live music and I found that there are 2 live performers performing at the bar next to the hotel. One on his classical guitar and another one on percussion. Luckily I am early and I manage to listen to at least 2 of their live performance. (Which is very very good in deed). :) BIG Applause to two of them from the crowd!! x"D

Alright, another flower shoot before I end the post.

Yeah..., I get back to rest after that. Guess this is how Day 5 is completed. Anyway, I will continue with the blog posting on my trip once I completed the photo processing. :) Thanks for viewing and have a great evening ahead. Cheers.

  5. B&G: Yes it is pretty fresh in the morning. It has been a practice for me everyday when I am there. Wake up, move the curtain, open the window and look at the view. (One thing is to feel the fresh air and the 2nd reason is to see if it is raining) :"P Anyway I love the place, specially with it blue blue sky and the cooling breeze. May be could think of staying there for 2-3 days. It will be fun. :) Hope that the photos served as a good "breakfast" for you as well. :"D
